How guests rate the walks
Guests who fill in our own review form score four things. The pattern has been stable for years: organisation and safety score highest, and value for money is never the problem when the guiding is free.
| What is rated | Typical score out of 10 |
|---|---|
| Service | 9.3 |
| Organisation | 9.7 |
| Value for money | 9.3 |
| Safety | 10.0 |
In their own words
A guest called Brian, after the full-day city walk: his guide met the group at their hotel, took them through the Ho Chi Minh Complex and the Temple of Literature in the morning and explained why the colours, the architecture and the temple customs are what they are. In the afternoon they walked the Old Quarter, and she pointed out the food stalls worth queueing for even though they had not booked a food tour. His summary was that it felt less like a tour and more like a day with a friend.
That comparison — friend rather than guide — is the one that comes back most often. The second most common is surprise at how much history a twenty-year-old can hold in their head.
What people mention most
- The guides' English, and how hard they work at it.
- Being taken to food they would never have ordered on their own.
- Getting the reasoning behind what they were looking at, not only the dates.
- How easy booking was compared with a paid tour.
- Wanting to give something back to a club that charges nothing.
